“I chose these blues & yellow because I am really into color theory of yellow representing the masculine, and blue representing the feminine. It flips the modern “pink for girls & blue for boys” on its head. Yellow like the sun, blue like the moon & the ocean. I love the way colors look together, and the joy I feel seeing that pale blue & yellow combo feels how it feels to embody any aspect of gender I feel like embodying at a given time. As a non-binary/genderfluid person. The mountain block in the center gets at the feeling of what’s above & below the surface - so even if I am presenting one aspect of my gender prominently than another in a given in a given morning or people are only perceiving my other gender assigned at birth, I am learning that my knowing what I hold within me is comforting & even powerful. The mountain is stable in its knowledge of itself I guess, The symmetry of the block almost feels too binary to me, but there’s something so satisfying about the whole of these pieces being together as one. There’s also a stained glass vibe to this block that I wasn’t expecting and it makes me think of how gender euphoria feels like a holy experience- divine.
