“Eliot ~

Here is my quilt square! I used some fabric that I cyanotype printed with some roots from a garden I volunteer in as well as some pressed scarlet gilia wildflowers from the Unita Mountains in NE Utah. The process of making this bloc was improvisational, playful, and full of joy! What emerged was a lot of yellow, many circles, a mountain range, and sun motif, my favorite color combos & a stitched waxing crescent moon. Together, they all seem to harmoniously sing about what it feels like & be questioning my gender, moving towards a more nonbinary understanding of myself. and what it feels like & be seen & celebrated & loved for being my true self by the people in my life! ❤︎❤︎ quilt-archive/block To me, embracing my queer joy means being deeply rooted in the Earth, in my self, and my relationships while simultaneously reaching for the sun, budding & blossoming, and reaching for life-giving community & connection.

Thank you for putting together this incredible project & organizing it! I also got to attend your Zoom quilting class & I had a wonderful time - Thank you!

I can’t wait to see the journey of this Euphoria Quilt!
