“Dear El-
First off, thank you for creating & stewarding this beautiful undertaking. I can’t wait to see it come together. Second, here’s a bit about what my block means to me:
I gravitate towards pink and blue. and felt called to honor my trans loved ones by incorporating some of the colors of the trans flag. This started out as drunkard’s path block but it was a lesson in fluidity, and I revised the concept to still enshrine the curvature—representing queerness (“queer”: possibly from German “quer”, meaning oblique, ultimately from proto-indo-european “terkw”, to twist). I also wanted to play on the concept of duality and completeness; the drunkard’s path quilt block “make sense: and form a full path when completed. Since this is only one block to me it represents that we as queer people deserve connectedness with each other, but still make sense and have worth and beauty even by ourselves. Sending major love + care to you!
Hugs, AnnaLise
[sticky note added on front of card] Btw I machine-based the “live edges because I was anxious about fraying in transit… :)”
