“Hi, my name is Kyle. I’m a cis gay man from Seattle, now living in central Oregon. This quilt block is made from leftover fabric from a block swap project I made with a friend, who happens to be a trans man, in 2021. To my shock and dismay, many cis queer people are distancing themselves from trans people, and for the past couple years we’ve been seeing lots of “LGB without the T” type astroturf organizations pop up. The short term political convenience afforded to them by throwing the trans community under the bus for cultural war points harms all of us. To me, this block represents solidarity between the gay and trans communities.
