Description from maker

This block reminded me of togetherness/joy that comes from belonging to a flock, finding others with shared experiences. My transition occurred gradually over several years, without a singular moment that actually defines a before and after. I’ve always marked periods of my life by the colors that bring me joy, and piecing them together encapsulates my identity… each color (or phase) as part of a larger whole, without any being less significant to who I am today. I thought I was finished with my block, and measured one last time, finding that it was too short- exactly 12 inches. To correct this, the neon half border was added. Every once in a while, when I find myself to declare my transition “done”, something will happen to remind me that it’s ever-evolving. It was to the point of this block to do that exact thing.

Visual description

The square is composed of various geometric shapes: two blue triangles with white polka dots, a yellow triangle with lime green and yellow squares, and a red circle. The red circle is bordered with white stitching. The background is a solid yellow fabric, and the edges of the square are bound with lime green fabric.
