Description from maker
I choose the New Mexico Whiptail lizard for this block because to me queer ecology is an ever present reminder of the ways in which queerness/transness is generative in it's own right. The whiptail reproduces asexually, but makes with other females, queering the lines of gender, reproduction, and creation. To me queerness/transness isn’t just about sex or gender, but about the ways in which we challenge and subvert hierarchies of control and norms of creation.
Visual description
Bright pink background with white star and Whiptail lizard appliqué on top. The lizard is grey with a light blue tail. The lizard has embroidered details on its back and tail.
