Description from maker
[Referring to the traditional block name] A puzzling name - whose honeymoon? The maker or the user of the quilt? I thought less about the design of the block, and more about the process of sewing it: tearing, cutting, and stitching fabric together. Sewing reminds me of walking. Each stitch is my own step looking back at me. A seam is an accumulation of steps, gestures, thoughts, experiences. In this block, the stitches hold together each piece of fabric, but the seams are most visible from the inside. To celebrate and hold each stitch - that is what gender-expansive joy means to me.
